Ephs Finish Strong Weekend at Dartmouth Shootout


HANOVER, NH - The Ephs finished a strong weekend at the Dartmouth Shootout today with seven different players earning a top three spot in their draw.  Facing stiff competition, the men managed an impressive record of 15-5 in singles play and 7-3 in doubles play.

Sophmore Jeremy Weinberger took the championship in his draw, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 straight sets victory.  Rick Devlin '09 also won his draw, defeating fellow Eph Karol Furmaga '09 in an all Williams final.  Ari Binder '11 and Bret Thacher '09 finished second in their draws, and team leaders Nick Lebedoff '10 and Gary Simonette '08 each placed third, winning their consolation matches today.

Overall, head coach David Donn was pleased with his teams performance this weekend, "We competed extremely well this weekend against some quality opponents and have built up nice momentum for next weekends ITA Tournament.  The team has really begun to come together as a unit."

The Ephs begin play at the ITA New England Regional Tournament Friday, September 28.
