Greenberg and Thacher exit in first round play at NCAAs

Senior Dan Greenberg, the 4th seed, was upset in the NCAA
Singles Tournament when he fell to unseeded Randy Loden of Mary
Washington in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Greenberg was back in the afternoon with junior doubles partner
Bret Thacher to take on 4th-seeded Guillaume Schils and Larry Wang
of Claremont.
Today's match was the third time this season these two duos had
met. Over spring break Thacher/Greenberg prevailed by a score of
8-6, but in the most recent match in the NCAA quarterfinals the
Claremont duo came out on top 8-3.
Schils and Wang ended Greenberg and Thacher's season with a three
set win this afternoon – 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
"It was a fun match to end our season on," said Eph head coach Dave
Donn. "Danny and Bret played really well and they had some chances
to win the third set, but it just didn't happen today."
"Overall we had a great season," commented Donn.
