#9 Ephs fall at #8 Trinity (TX), 6-3

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A five-match Williams
win streak and a 9-match Trinity (TX) win streak collided today at
Trinity University's Delvan Tennis Stadium and the host Tigers
defeated the Ephs 6-3.
Trinity jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping doubles play and then
followed that up with three wins in singles play. The three Eph
wins were came from Gary Simonette (3), Jeremy Weinberger (4), and
Rick Devlin (6).
"It was a disappointing loss as we put ourselves behind the eight
ball by losing all three doubles matches," said Eph rookie head
coach Dave Donn. "It's still early in our season so we'll take what
we did wrong and see what we need to improve on over the rest of
the season."
With the loss the 9th-ranked Ephs are now 5-1 on the year, while
8th-ranked Trinity extended its win streak to 10 and upped its
season ledger to 11-3.
Things do not get any easier for the Ephs tomorrow when they will
square off against Washington Univ. (MO) ranked third at noon CST.
