MINNEAPOLIS, MN-  The Williams College swimming and diving program concluded their 2008-2009 season as the NESCAC champion Ephwomen and Ephmen sat 4th and 21st respectively at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

The top performer for the Ephs was senior Amanda Nicholson who ended her four-year career with a second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke (2:00.61).

Another impressive performance was the 400 yard freestyle relay, where junior Christina Metcalf, sophomore Jillian Hancock, and first years Logan Todhunter and Carolyn Geller swam to a fifth place finish (3:27.69).

Other strong events for the Ephwomen were the 100 yard freestyle, where Geller placed 16th (52.23), and the 200 yard breaststroke, where Metcalf finished 10th (2:19.99).

For the Ephmen, senior Tyler Bonewell ended his Williams career with the best men's performance of the day, a 13th place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:02.79).

The Ephs now look forward to next season, where the women and men will look to capture their tenth and eighth consecutive NESCAC championships respectively.  Another storyline to watch is the maturation of first year phenom Todhunter, who set two national records to go along with two event national championships this season.
