Ephs Fall 1-8 to Strong Harvard Side in Season Opener

The Men’s squash team drove to Cambridge yesterday to face
off with a strong Harvard side. For many on the team, yesterday was
the first match at a higher position. Notable position changes
since last year include Sophomore Jeremy Herrmann at number seven,
Junior Christian Henze at number six and Sophomore Will Gruner at
number one. It was also freshman Will Morris’ intercollegiate
debut and senior captain Bucky Marshall’s first match since
the 2006-2007 season. Christian Henze stepped up to the occasion
and earned the sole Eph victory of the day, battling back from a
two game deficit to defeat Harvard Freshman Will Ahmed (2007
Liberty Bell Long-Drive winner). Cameron Henry went down 2-0, but
battled back in the next two games before finally succumbing in the
fifth. Ethan Buchsbaum played well against Verdi Disesa, winning
the third game before running out of gas in the fourth. Everyone
else lost in straight games. Overall the Ephs were disappointed
with the results, but are optimistic looking ahead.
