Ephs beat Tufts 8-1

The Tufts team came out strong against the Ephs, but was thwarted by the consistent and patient play from the Williams side with notable performances from Bernard Yaros ’09, Tony Maruca ’08 Ethan Buschbaum ’10, Christian Henze ’10, and Eli Bronfman ‘11. Williams defeated the Jumbos 8-1.

The Ephs won all but one out of nine matches with Williams number one John Barry '08 losing in a hard fought 4 set match.

Coach Zafi Levy is already looking forward to the Ephs first real challenge against Harvard tomorrow: “I think the boys played well today. We expect a strong showing tomorrow against Harvard. We still have work to do with our young players, though I am confident they will improve as the season progresses.”

George Miller added: “The team in general and particularly the younger players had the typical first-match-of-the year nerves, but we fought it out and are feeling confident for the big one tomorrow.” Overall the Ephs did what they had to do and are excited for consistent improvement.
