Matt Gnall joins the Williams staff for his first year as the
team’s goalkeeper coach and co-head coach of the reserve
team.
Gnall graduated in 2008 from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in
English. He comes to Williamstown after a year teaching
second grade and coaching varsity soccer at The Greenwich Country
Day School in Greenwich, Ct.
During his career minding the nets in Middletown, Gnall was a
three-year starter and team captain during his senior
campaign. Gnall led the Cardinals to two NCAA tournament
appearances in 2005 and 2006.
Gnall returns to Cole Field, where he enjoyed previous success as
the Cardinals historically captured the 2005 NESCAC Tournament
title as the seventh seed. He continues to play semi-professionally
in the NPSL.
