Sam Empson & Pierre Meloty-Kapella earn All-NESCAC honors
Pierre Meloty-Kapella '10
Two members of Mike Russo's 2008 Eph team (8-6-2) have been
accorded All-NESCAC honors. Senior midfielder Sam Empson
(Washington, D.C.) was named to the conference First Team, while
junior forward Pierre Meloty-Kapella (Redwood City, CA) was named
to the Second Team.
Empson, a Second Team All-NESCAC selection in 2007, moved up to the
First Team from the Second Team this fall as the Eph leader in
goals (7), assists (6), and points (20). Three of Empson's goals
this fall were game-winners. He tied for third in the conference in
that category. His seven goals scored represented nearly 25% of the
Eph team total of 31.
Meloty-Kapella earned his first all-conference honor with his
dynamic play up front that yielded three goals and an assist. He
tied for third best on the Ephs in goals scored this season.
