Senior midfielder Empson (Washington, D.C.) netted five points on two goals and an assist during an 8-1 season-opening victory over Castleton State on Saturday afternoon.

The Ephs trailed Castleton State early in the contest, 1-0.

Empson, a co-captain, broke a 1-1 tie with his first goal (game-winner), set up the third Eph goal and scored his second goal later in the first half in leading the Ephs.

A year ago Empson was fourth on the Eph roster in points during, tallying four goals and adding two assists in 15 games.

Next up for the Empson and the Ephs is a road game at NESCAC foe Bates Saturday at 2:00 pm
