
HADLEY, MA — Senior goalkeeper Stephen Vrla (Paradise Valley, AZ) and senior defenseman Andrew D-Ambrosio (Arlington, VA) were selected to the 2010 All-NESCAC First Team recently.Junior face-off specialist Corey Jacobs (Somers, CT) was named to 2nd Team All-NESCAC.

Vrla started all 15 games in goal this season for the Ephs, who finished 5-10. He led the conference in saves per game with 12.60 and finished with an 8.55 goals against average and an even .600 save percentage, making 189 saves of 521 shots faced on the year.
He also had 42 groundballs on the season and was named the NESCAC Player of the Week in April after making 19 saves in a 6-5 overtime win against Little 3 rival Wesleyan.

when he got his shot he made the most of it," Ephs head coach
George McCormack said. "Stephen was stellar in cage this year and
single handily kept us in
more than a few games.
A four-year starter for the Ephs, D’Ambrosio drew the toughest assignments and regularly covered opponents’ best attackers. He finished the season with 42 groundballs.
"Andrew D'Ambrosio has been a mainstay for our defense since his freshmen year," McCormack said. "He has always drawn the toughest assignment and performed admirably year in and year out."
Jacobs won 115 face-offs during the season, capturing possession 58.2 percent of the time. He also had seven goals and one assist on the year and a team-leading 108 groundballs.
"Junior Corey Jacobs has been an impact player for us since he arrived in regards to taking face offs," McCormack said. "It is nice to see that he is also well respected within the conference by the other coaches."
