
First year attack David Hawley (New Canaan, CT) and junior long
stick midfielder Brian Morrrissey (Winchester, MA) have been named
to the 2008 ECAC-New England All-Star teams.
Hawley was named to the First Team, while Morrissey garnered Second
Team recognition. In addition Hawley was named the region's Rookie
of the Year.
Hawley burst on the scene this season and led Williams in goals
scored (40) and added six assists to make him the team leader in
points with 46.
Morrissey netted four goals on the year and assisted on two more.
It was the Morrissey assist on Nick Fersen's game-winning goal in
OT in the NESCAC regular season contest vs. Bowdoin that lifted the
Ephs into the NESCAC Tournament.
David Hawley also garnered the NEILA Rookie of the Year award and
the NESCAC's Rookie of the Year award as well as First Team
All-NESCAC and NEILA honors. Morrissey was named First Team
All-NESCAC and to the NEILA Second Team.
After defeating three nationally ranked teams to close out the
regular season George McCormack's Ephs then rattled off three more
wins over nationally ranked opponents to capture their first NESCAC
title and advance to their first NCAA Division III Tournament.
Opening the year with four losses in their first six contests the
2008 Ephs made history by winning their first NESCAC title and
advancing to the NCAA Tournament and finishing with a record of
10-6.
