LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Williams senior forward Alex Smigelski (Mountain Lakes, NJ) was selected a 2010 RBK Hockey Division III First Team All-American, it was announced today by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Previously Smigelski earned First Team All-NESCAC honors and became the first Williams men’s player to be named the NESCAC Player of the Year. Smigelski netted a NESCAC-best 17 goals and contributed 11 assists for 28 points for the 15-6-3 Ephs, who posted a 13-5-1 record in NESCAC, finishing third.

Smigelski is the first Eph All-American since Marc Siegel in 2000. In 87 career games Smigelski tallied 41 goals and registered 33 assists for 74 points.

Further, Smigelski is a finalist for the Joe Concannon Award that is presented annually by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston to the best American-born college hockey player in Divisions II and III in New England. He was also one of eight finalists for the Sid Watson Award presented by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) to the nation’s top Division III player.
