A first-year defenseman, Troiani has played in a 25 games for Williams and is the leading freshman scorer with 15 points (5 goals and 10 points). More than the points however, Troiani has been a critical component of the Ephs' special teams while logging the most minutes of any defensemen.
Smigelski (Mountain Lakes, NJ) was the Ephs' leading scorer at the time of an injury which has caused him to miss nine games. He scored eight goals and added five assists for 13 points in 16 games.
Amherst senior defenseman Jeff Landers (Hanover, Mass.) was selected as the 2009 NESCAC Player of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches.
Williams, 15-8-2, will face Middlebury Friday at 4 p.m. in a NESCAC Tournament semifinal game at host Amherst College.
