Men's Golf names four captains for 2010-11

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Entering his 27th year as the head coach of the Williams men’s golf team Rick Pohle will have four captains leading his team during the 2010-11 academic year.

Seniors Drew Murray, Jack Killea, Bob Camp and Jake Wagner will share responsibilities as captains of the golf team for the 2010-11 season. "Each of them has played an important role in developing our team over the past three seasons and I’m looking forward to their input as they prepare us for the future,” stated Pohle. We’re expecting great things next year and I know they want to make sure we give it our best shot."

Killea, Camp and Wagner have all earned  All-NESCAC honors in their careers and Murray has been a consistent contributor each year for Pohle’s Ephs.

"All of our players are special, but every so often you have a large class that accomplishes so much in their four years - the class of '99 and '03 come to mind and this class ranks right up there with them."

Last fall the Ephs won the NESCAC Qualifier and hosted the NESCAC Championship in the spring. The Ephs finished third in the NESCAC Championships. Phole will be counting on the quartet of captains to lead the Ephs back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008. The Eph seniors would like nothing better than to bookend their Williams golf careers with one more appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
