
HERSHEY, PA – A trio of Williams junior men’s golfers -- Bob Camp, Jack Killea and Jake Wagner -- have been named 2010 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for Division III the Golf Coaches Association of America announced.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Bob Camp (Raleigh, NC), Jack Killea (Katy, TX) and Jake Wagner (Wilmette, IL) have been key contributors to the success of the Eph program over their three years on campus. Each member of the trio has earned First Team All-NESCAC honors at least once.
Camp, who finished 11th at the 2009 NESCAC Championship with a two-round total of 158, was named to the First Team in 2009 and was a Second Team selection in 2007.
Killea has earned All-NESCAC honors all three years, claiming Second Team laurels in 2007 and 2009 and First Team recognition in 2008.
Wagner, is a two-time First Team honoree having earned the honor in both 2007 and 2009.
Killea and Wagner tied for eighth place at the 2009 NESCAC Championship with a two-day total of 154.
Head coach Rick Pohle will count heavily on the junior standouts next year as the Ephs seek to repeat as NESCAC Fall Golf Qualifier champions and host the NESCAC Championship at Taconic in the spring of 2011 in an attempt to land a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
