The Ephs shot 308 in the second round of the Hamilton
Invitational played at Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, NY to
finish 6th out of 12 teams. The Ephs' two-day score was 615.
Skidmore finished first with a team score of 583 and the
Thoroughbreds' Matt Canavan was the medalist for the tourney with a
71-73 = 144.
"We played pretty well this weekend and it was nice to see us hold
our score in the low 300s with some new players getting an
opportunity to contribute," noted Pohle. "We did what we set out to
do for the fall season by qualifying for the NESCAC Championship
event in the spring and we found out that we have 8-9 players who
can contribute on any given weekend."
First year Drew Murray and senior co-captain Nicholas Nottebohm
were the leaders for the Ephs today as both carded 75s. First year
Jake Wagner contributed a 76 and classmates Bob Camp and Jack
Wadden both shot 82.
Drew Murray's two-day total of 152 led the Ephs and was one shot
better than Nicholas Nottebohm's 153. Jake Wagner sliced six shots
off his first round 82 to show the most improvement from day one to
day two.
The Hamilton Invitational closed out the competitive portion of the
fall campaign, but there is one last week remaining. "This coming
week is our final week of practice this fall and it will give us a
few more looks at which players to select for our spring break trip
in March," said Pohle.
The Ephs compiled a fall record of 67-12 (.848).
