Ephs tied for 3rd after 1st day at Skidmore Tourney


In their first outing of the fall season the Williams men's golf team finished in a tie for third with NYU in a field of 13 teams on day one of the Tim Brown Tourney at Skidmore. Host Skidmore leads the event with a team score of 284, 20 shots ahead of 2nd place Salem State and 26 shots better than the Ephs and NYU (310.

The Tim Brown Tourney is being played at the Saratoga Spa State Park Championship Course, par 72, and will conclude with a final round of 18 holes tomorrow. Play Monday will begin at 8:00 am.

Eph head coach Rick Pohle brought a young Eph squad to Saratoga Springs that featured a senior, a junior and three first years and the young Eph linksters performed well considering that three of the players were playing their first collegiate event.

Junior Tylaer Zara and first year Jake Wagner led the way for the purple carding three over par75s. First year Jack Killea shot a 79, senior co-captain Brendan Conley had an 81 and first year Drew Murray finished with an 84.
