Saratoga Springs, NY – The Williams’ men held onto a third place finish after the two-day tournament at Saratoga National Golf Course.

Skidmore College showed a home-course advantage, finishing 32 strokes ahead of the second-place Hamilton Continentals, and 39 strokes ahead of Williams, who ended the two-day tournament with a combined stroke total of 639. Skidmore sophomore Sam Dasilva finished on par, shooting back-to-back 72s. Skidmore players placed in the top three overall, leading to their decisive win.

Leading the Ephs were senior co-captain Brendon Conley and first-year Jacob Wagner, who tied for ninth place with a tournament total of 156. Junior Matt Felser and freshman Jack Killea also stayed together, each shooting 164 to tie for 29th. Rounding out the top five was junior Tyler Zara who finished with 165.

"We played like it was early in the season on day two of the event," said head coach Rick Pohle. The weather had a certain impact in the scoring, but I think lack of playing time and
competition made our players do some things on the course that really affected
our ability to score. We need to get into the "swing" of things over the next
10 days in preparation for the NESCAC Championship at the end of the month."

The Ephs will tee off again this Thursday in the WNEC Invitational to be heosted by Western New England College at the Veterans Golf Course.
