HENLEY on the THAMES, UK - The Williams College V1 crew boat
rowed to another victory today, defeating Reading University of
England to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2008 Henley
Regatta's Temple Challenge Cup.
The Ephs were able to defeat Reading by 2 3/4 lengths in a time of
7:11, securing their spot in the quarterfinal round. Although the
crew members sported a new look -- cementing their commitment to
each other by bleaching their hair, the line-up remained Allison
Prevatt '09 (C), Riley Maddox '08 (S), Jack Wadden '11 (7), Cameron
Skinner '10 (6), Andy Ward '09 (5), Rob Buesing '09 (4), Ben Byrne
'08 (3), Ken Sluis '11 (2), and Peter Clements '08 (B).
Unlike Wednesday, Williams will not have to wait to find out its next opponent. At 12 p.m. England time, Harvard University (the Harvard Freshman Eight) took on Balliol & Exeter Colleges, Oxford and defeated them by 1 1/4 lengths in a time of 7:17.
