Ephs Move Up Four Spots in Rankings to No. 7

Williamstown, MA - Following its defeat of archrival Amherst on Saturday, Williams men’s basketball jumped four spots, from no. 11 to no. 7, in this week’s D3Hoops.com national rankings. Amherst fell from no. 9 to no. 13, while fellow NESCAC member Middlebury dropped from no. 7 to no. 10 after falling to Colby-Sawyer last Thursday.

Randolph Macon, who climbed to no. 1 following its defeat of the Ephs on Dec. 30, held on to its top spot, and the rest of the top six in the remained unchanged. Brandeis, Mississippi College, and Wheaton (Ill.) all fell sharply in the poll, dropping from no. 8 to no. 20, no. 10 to no. 25, and no. 14 to unranked respectively.

Williams, sporting a 12-1 record, will open NESCAC play this weekend against Tufts and Bates. The Ephs will take on the Jumbos on Friday at 8 p.m. before facing off with the Bobcats on Saturday at 4 p.m.
