Ephs climb to 20th in D3hoops.com national poll

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Mike Maker’s Williams men’s basketball team (7-0) celebrated its climb into the top twenty in the D3hoops.com national poll by dispatching the Framingham State Rams last night 88-50.

Maker’s high scoring Eph quintet is averaging 94 points a game with four players in double figures. Senior captain Blake Schultz leads with an average of 23 points a game, followed by sophomore James Wang (16.9), junior Troy Whitttington (12.4) and junior Harlan Dodson (11.0).

The Ephs have connected on 53% of their field goal attempts while holding opponents to 40 %. 

Williams has made exactly twice as many free throws as the opposition (69) and the Ephs have made more shots from the charity stripe than their opponents have attempted (138 to 115). From beyond the arc Williams is hitting on 70 of 161 (44%) and the Ephs have converted 138 of 185 free throw attempts ( 75%).

Williams is getting after it on the glass too holding a rebound margin of 12.8. The Ephs also boast a scoring margin of 24 (94 to 70).

Maker’s Ephs will next see action on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM when they host Springfield College in their final contest before first semester final exams.
