Blake Schultz NESCAC & ECAC-New England Player of the Week

HADLEY, MA -- Williams senior captain and guard Blake Schultz (Atherton, CA) averaged 30.5 points per game on 18-of-26 shooting (.692) in two wins last week and in the process became the 27th player in Eph history to reach 1,000 career points.

For his efforts in the two wins on the week Schultz was named the NESCAC & ECAC New England Player of the Week.

Schultz began his week on Tuesday against Salem St., netting 27 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out two assists in a 100-71 win. He followed on Saturday with a career-high 34 points as he went 11-for-13 from the floor (.846) and 8-for-10 from beyond the arc during a 111-74 victory against Vassar.

Schultz finished the week shooting .647 from three-point range (11-for-17) and .933 from the foul line (14-for-15). He leads NESCAC in scoring with 23.8 points a game and Williams leads the conference with a scoring average of 95 points a game.

Schultz is third in NESCAC in free throw percentage at .87 having made 36 of 42. His 36 makes is tops in the league and he also has made the second most 3-points (17) draining 17 of 34 attempts (.500). His 50% from beyond the arc ties him for 6th in 3-point percentage.

Schultz and the Ephs will be back in action tomorrow night when they host Framingham State in a 7:30 PM contest.
