NESCAC: Prior to the 1993-94 academic year was NESCAC teams, by agreement, were not permitted to play in NCAA team postseason events. In the 17 years that NESCAC teams have been “dancing,” the conference has made 10 appearances in Salem -- Williams 5, Amherst 3, Connecticut College 1, and Trinity 1.
EPHNOTES: In advancing to Salem Mike Maker’s Ephs set a Williams record for consecutive in-season wins and have upped that total to 21 with the win over Guilford.
This is only the third time the Ephs have won 30 games in a season: 2003 (31-1/NCAA Champions), 2004 (30-2/NCAA Runner-up).
EPH MILESTONES: With 25 points vs. Guilford Bale Schultz became just the 4th Eph to go over 1500 points and now has 1508. Joe Geoghegan snared six rebounds vs. Guilford to move into 3rd place all-time on the Eph list with 749.
HONORS: Senior forward and co-captain Blake Schultz (Atherton, CA) is the second Eph to win the Jostens Trophy. Michael Nogelo ’98 was the first Eph to win the Jostens Trophy. Schultz will graduate ranked in the top ten all-time at Williams in points and rebounds.
NATIONAL LEADERS: Williams has won 13 of the 14 Directors’ Cups for overall athletic excellence awarded in NCAA Division III, including the last 11 in a row.
