SPRINGFIELD, MA--A stellar defensive effort led the Ephs (10-3) past the host Springfield (7-5) on Tuesday, 65-50. The Ephs notched 12 assists to just 6 turnovers while forcing 7 Pride turnovers to just 6 team assists.
Williams didn't turn in its best shooting performance of the season, shooting just a touch over 40% from the field, but the Ephs stifled the Springfield scoring attack, holding the home team to just 32% and 3 of 10 from long-range.
A familiar face led the Eph offense, as senior Kevin Snyder (Littleton, CO) recorded a game-high 23 points on 5 of 8 from the field and 10 of 12 from the charity stripe. Snyder also added a game-high 6 assists. Joining Snyder in double digits were Geogehegan (Cape Elizabeth, ME) with 17 points and 5 boards, and Schultz with 10 points and a game-high 7 rebounds.
For the Pride, only forward Pat Crean and guard Ryan Blackmon were able to register in the double digits with 18 and 14 points respectively.
Williams next game will be a home match-up against archrival Amherst on Saturday in Chandler Gymnasium. The game is slated for 4:00 pm.
