Williams upset Middlebury last Sunday to prove themselves worthy of Saturdays semifinal competition against Tufts, but couldnt top the Jumbos in the race for Sundays Championship game. Tufts outscored the Ephs, 3-0, to clinch their position in tomorrows NESCAC championship against Trinity at 12PM in hopes of improving on their second-place finish in 2008 against Bowdoin. Most recently, Williams was runner-up in the 2005 championship game against Bowdoin, and has won the title three times in the last 9 years. The Panthers (11-4) outfought the Ephs (6-9) last Friday in a 7-1 victory, but couldnt hold off the Purple Cows when it counted: quarterfinals.
