Alix Barrale ’93 begins her 10th season as the head coach of the Williams’ field hockey program after successfully leading the Ephs to the NCAAA Tournament in seven of nine seasons.

In that span, Williams has compiled a 112-47 mark (.704 winning percentage) and appeared in the championship game of the NESCAC six times, winning three NESCAC titles (2001, 2002, 2004).
 
Barrale’s Eph teams have a 16-6 (.727) record in NESCAC Tournament play and a 5-7 mark in the NCAA Tournament, advancing the Elite 8 round twice. Rorke was named the NESCAC Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2004 and the NFHCA New England Region’s Coach of the Year in 2002. In addition, the Ephs have won four Little 3 titles in that span and shared another.

Barrale has coached 17 All-Americans at Williams.

Prior to returning to Williams, Barrale served as the head field hockey coach and head women's lacrosse coach at Denison University. In her last two years Barrale guided Denison to a 30-10 mark with a record of 16-4 in her final season, (12-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play). Barrale's Denison teams were 20-2 in NCAC play her final two years

Barrale played field hockey and lacrosse at Williams under her current assistant coach, Chris Mason. Barrale was the all-time leader in points for the Ephs at the time of her graduation, earned All-American honors and was invited to the U.S. Olympic "A" Training Camp.

Barrale also serves as the assistant coach to Mason in women’s lacrosse after serving as the interim head women’s lacrosse coach for one season (2000).
