Seniors Amy Siedlecki and Whitney Thayer were were selected to the All-NESCAC Team in a vote by the conference coaches.

Ephs fall to Tufts in Semifinal, 3-0
HARTFORD, CT. Williams upset Middlebury last Sunday to prove themselves worthy of Saturday’s semifinal competition against Tufts, but couldn’t top the Jumbos in the race for Sunday’s Championship game. Tufts outscored the Ephs, 3-0, to clinch their position in tomorrow’s NESCAC championship against Trinity at 12PM in hopes of improving on their second-place finish in 2008 against Bowdoin. Most recently, Williams was runner-up in the 2005 championship game against Bowdoin, and has won the title three times in the last 9 years.

Williams upsets Middlebury for 2-1 NESCAC Quarterfinal victory
MIDDLEBURY, VT. -- Coach Alix Barrale said it best when she commented on her team having an incredible comeback Sunday afternoon to defeat Middlebury, 2-1. The Panthers (11-4) outfought the Ephs (6-9) last Friday in a 7-1 victory, but couldn’t hold off the Purple Cows when it counted: quarterfinals.

Middlebury tops Ephs, 7-1, and will meet again Sunday in NESCAC Quarterfinals
MIDDLEBURY, VT. Despite matching the Panthers (11-3, 6-3 NESCAC) in shots attempts throughout the competition Friday afternoon, the Ephs (5-9, 5-4 NESCAC) couldn’t prevent Middlebury’s potent offense from finishing in the circle resulting in a 7-1 Panther victory.

Ephs fall to Tufts, 3-0
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. Williams (5-8, 5-3 NESCAC) showed a lot of hustle despite the constant downpour Saturday afternoon at Renzie Lamb field for senior day, but couldn’t overcome the Jumbos improving their record to 12-1, 7-1 in NESCAC. The field was slippery, but both teams managed to maintain composure throughout the competition.

Union defeats Williams, 2-0
SCHENECTADY, NY. Union College improved their record to 7-7 after defeating the Ephs (5-7) in Wednesday’s non-conference match-up, 2-0. William’s offense suffered a lack of intensity in the absence of senior captain Anne de Saint Phalle (Bronxville, NY) who is recovering from an injury. Despite the loss, the Ephs look to challenge Tufts Saturday and improve upon their 5-2 NESCAC standing.

Ephs shut out by Bowdoin, 1-0
Brunswick, ME. Despite a strong performance by Eph goalie Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, CT) and a number of good shot opportunities in the opening and closing minutes of the competition, Wiliams didn't play with the same intensity as Bowdoin Saturday afternoon at Howard F. Ryan Field. The Ephs managed to keep the two-time national champs to a single goal scored seven minutes into the second half, but were unable to contact net to overtake or challenge the Polar Bears in overtime.

Ephs suffer 3-2 non-conference loss to Hamilton
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. The Hamilton Continentals (7-3) topped Williams College (5-5) 3-2 Thursday night at Renzie Lamb Field with two key elements that the Ephs couldn’t get a hold of: intensity and desire.

Ephs roll to 5-2 win over Bates
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. Williams College (5-4, 5-1 NESCAC) bounced back from their Wednesday night loss to Trinity to top Bates (1-7, 0-6 NESCAC) Saturday afternoon at Renzie Lamb Field. Each of William’s five goals were scored by a different player exhibiting the Ephs' depth.

Ephs fall to Trinity, 2-1, suffer first NESCAC loss
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. It was a cold, blustery night at Renzie Lamb field Wednesday night, but the weather did not get Williams (4-4, 4-1 NESCAC) down as it put together an all-around strong performance and came out just short of the victory, falling to conference foe Trinity, 2-1.

Bates Game Notes
The Williams and Bates will meet for the 22nd time this Saturday on Weston Field at 1:00 PM in the 2009 home opener for the Ephs.

Ephs drop heartbreaker to Trinity, 26-21
Williams was on the brink of ending an 11-game Bantam win streak and a 31-game home field run, as they stopped a potentially game-tying 2-point conversion with 1:48 left on the clock. But due to slippery playing conditions, the Ephs failed to maintain possession of the onside kick, and Trinity marched the ball back down the field to score the game-winning touchdown for the win, 26-21.

Williams Tops Amherst, 2-0, for Little Three Title
AMHERST, MA. Despite a rainy day, Williams (4-0 NESCAC) maintained their undefeated record in the NESCAC putting together their best team performance of the year to cruise past Amherst (2-3 NESCAC) Saturday afternoon. The offense truly capitalized in the circle hitting net each half while defense aggressively protected their own throughout the competition with numerous exceptional saves by junior goalie Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, CT).

Springfield College Defeats Eph Field Hockey, 3-2
SPRINGFIELD, MA. Coming off a two-game winning streak, Williams College (3-3, 3-0 NESCAC) was unable to overcome an unrelenting Springfield College (5-4) Wednesday evening and fell 3-2 in overtime.

Ephs top Colby, 4-3, in second consecutive win
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. Despite a patchy second half, Williams (3-2, 3-0 NESCAC) put together a solid first period, securing their 4-3 win against Colby (3-2, 1-2 NESCAC). Undefeated in conference, the Ephs victory against Colby was due to a strong team effort and crucial performances by several individuals on both ends of the field.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — Senior captain Anne de Saint Phalle (Bronxville, NY) -- playing in her first game of the season after ACL surgery -- scored the game-winner with 4:58 remaining Saturday as Williams came from behind to defeat Connecticut College, 2-1, at Renzie Lamb Field.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. The Ephs (1-2) took another tumble this Tuesday against nationally ranked Keene State (6-0). The win for the Owls was a program record having never achieved 6 straight shut-outs before.

Despite coming into Sunday’s game with momentum from Saturday’s victory, 13th ranked Skidmore College (3-1) delivered Williams (1-1) their first loss on the season at Renzie Lamb Field after scoring half way through the second period.

Despite losing some experience after graduating a strong senior classincluding All-New England selections Meighan McGowan and Sarah Burleigh. Williams College (1-0) started their year off strong after defeating Wesleyan University (0-1) this afternoon at Renzie Lamb Field.
