Ephs fall to Tufts, 3-1

Medford, MA- The Williams College Ephs (5-5) lost to the Tufts
Jumbos (11-0) Saturday afternoon at Bello Field, 3-1. Tufts is
currently undefeated with a 7-0 record in NESCAC.
The Ephs entered the match with intensity and fought to fend off
Tufts' superb offensive game. With two goals scored in the first
half by Tufts' Tamara Brown and Amanda Russo , the Ephs entered the
second period with a new energy.
Junior Amy Siedlecki (Madison, CT) put in the only goal for
Williams in the second period assisted by Lucy Rollins off a
penalty corner. This was quickly answered by another Tufts goal by
Margi Scholtes.
Williams had 3 penalty corners as apposed to Tufts' 14. Tufts
ended the game with 28 shots taken, while Williams took 7 shots.
Eph sophomore Katrina Tulla (New Canaan, CT) was in goal all 70
minutes and had 14 saves. Tufts' goalie had 4 saves.
Williams head coach Alix Rorke felt that her team managed well in
the second period, but wished her team could have brought similar
intensity throughout the game. "They dominated us
offensively, and they were much better passers today. Katrina Tulla
had a great day with 14 saves," Coach Rorke commented after the
game.
The Ephs compete again Sunday, October 19th at Colby at 11:00 AM.
