Jess Overlander repeats as All-American

Eph junior defender Jess Overlander (New Canaan, CT) repeated as an All-American on both the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) team and womensfieldhockey.com.

Overlander was the defensive anchor for the Ephs this year, but she did more than just defend for Alix Rorke's 9-7 Ephs. "Jess is an outstanding defender who competes every second she is on the filed," noted Rorke. "She is strong, fast, adept as a playmaker, our striker on corners and as the flyer – she does it all for us. It's unfortunate she missed the last two games with an injury."

Overlander notched one goal and one assist this year and earlier this fall was named to the All-NESCAC and NFHCA All-West Region First Teams.

Junior forward Meighan McGowan and senior midfielder Charlotte VanWagenen were named First Team All-NFHCA West Region as well. McGowan led the Ephs with 6 goals and eight assists for 20 points, while VanWagenen chipped in with two goals and two assists.
