The 128th Williams College Football team is
preparing for the 2010 season under the direction of new Head Coach
Aaron Kelton and his staff. Coach Kelton comes to Williams from
Columbia University, where he served as the Lions defensive
coordinator for the last two seasons after having served the two
previous seasons as secondary coach. He is excited to carry on the
incredible football tradition at Williams and looks forward to
meeting all members of the Sideline Quarterback Club.
For the past 63 years, the Sideline Quarterback Club has supported
the team, and this year will be no different. What will be
different is where we host our weekly lunches. We will meet
this year at the Faculty House (968 Main Street). This
will provide us with more space, more comfortable seating, more
options for parking (parking available in the Parking Garage, and 4
handicap accessible spots available outside the Faculty House), and
a wonderful buffet lunch provided by Dining Services. Although our
meetings will continue to be held from Noon to 1:00 p.m., the
buffet lunch will be available to members at the Faculty House at
11:30 a.m. Our opening luncheon will be held on September
22nd .
The Club will continue to provide encouragement to the players and coaches, support the Williams Sideline Quarterback Club Scholarship, recognize area high school players and coaches, and enjoy the football program at Williams.
This year’s dues, which will remain at $130,
support many things beyond your own eight lunches and opening
season tailgate party – the scholarship fund, lunches for
players being honored each week, lunches for area high school
athletes and their coaches, and payment for the annual banquet for
the team.
Please send your contact information (including email
address) and check made out to WSQC to our Treasurer, Steve
Counter, PO Box 786, Bennington, VT 05201.
Each member is encouraged to recruit new members of the Sideline
Quarterback Club. Increased membership will not only contribute to
the financial health of the club but will also increase the support
of Williams College football. It’s a win-win proposition, so
don’t miss out!
And don’t forget that we encourage you to bring guests to any of our meetings; the guest fee paid by member, is $12.
Renzie W. Lamb, President
