11 Ephs garner All-NESCAC honors; Cameron Rookie of the Year
Seven members of the 2009 Wiliams College football team collected First Team All-NESCAC honors. First year LB Chris Cameron was named Rookie of the Year and three more Ephs were named to the Second Team.

No one tunes into a football game to see how the producer delivers the action to the screen and most football fans do not appreciate the contributions the offensive line make, but Eph alum Rob Hyland has made "unknown" roles his springboard to success.

It was a gutsy sixty-mintue performance by the purple and gold but they could not overcome the archrival Lord Jeffs as Amherst completed their undefeated championship season at Weston Field.

For the 14th consecutive year the New England Sports Network (NESN) is airing "The Biggest Little Game in America." The 124th edition live from Weston Field in Williamstown will kickoff at 12:00 PM non November 14th.

"The Walk" started when the post-game bus wouldn't start up on November 13, 1971, the day Bob Odell's first Williams team shocked a 7-0 Amherst team 31-14.

Ephs have shot at NESCAC co-championship after defeating Wesleyan 34-7
Thanks to another impressive defensive effort and some timely offensive conversions, the purple and gold remain in the win column for the fifth week in a row as they pulled away from the Cardinals late in their homecoming game for the road victory. Williams football will have a chance to play for the NESCAC championship against undefeated arch-rival Amherst next weekend, as well as the Little Three title.

John Kowalik '83 -- Learning to teach while competing at Williams
John Kowalik competed in football and track & field for the Ephs and he has used those experiences to fashion a career in education where he has hired many, many Ephs.

Williams makes it four in a row with shutout victory over Hamilton 42-0
Senior tri-captain Nick Caro has a career day at Weston Field, tying the program record with three touchdown receptions in a blowout win for the red hot purple cows. With Trinity's loss to Middlebury, Williams is now tied for second in the standings going into the final two games against Wesleyan and Amherst.

Eph WR Nick Caro 'the story of the year'
Senior WR and captain Nick Caro is back on the field after suffering a serious injury in last year's win over Hamilton. He was told he would never play again. He disagreed and his teammates and family loved and supported him so he could finish up as a playing captain.

Kevin Morris '86: "Washington, D.C. is still awaiting his arrival"
After 23 years of coaching football at six colleges, Kevin Morris is getting his first chance as a head coach of a Division I program, leading the UMass Minutemen. Pretty surprising for a guy who came to Williams so he could embark on a career in Washington, D.C.

Ephs stay hot, defeat Tufts 30-7
Williams holds the Jumbos to just 135 of total offense while producing 339 yards in a well-balanced air-ground attack in their 30-7 victory over Tufts at Weston Field. Head Coach Mike Whalen considered this game as the team's "best effort to date."

Ephs defeat Middlebury 37-27 to improve to 3-1
Williams and their league-leading defense held a convincing 30-7 lead with under 10 minutes left in the third quarter, but the Panthers and their league-leading offense came storming back in the second half to cut the 23-point lead to 3-point advantage by the middle of the fourth quarter.

Williams defeats Bates 31-7
The Ephs displayed "workmanlike focus," according to their head coach Mike Whalen, in their victory over the Bobcats at Weston Field this afternoon. An impressive effort on both sides of the ball led to interceptions, big plays downfield, and an important bounce-back win for the purple and gold.

Trinity Game Notes
Williams travels to Hartford on Saturday, October 3 to tangle with Trinity on the Bantams' turf surface at Jessee/Miller field where Trinity has won 31 consecutive games. Williams was the last team to defeat Trinity in Hartford, 31-10, in 2001.

Ephs pull out last-minute victory over Colby 23-19
The Williams Football Program celebrates its 1,000th game with a win over the Mules in the inaugural game of Colby's brand new Seavers Field. They claimed victory on their final drive in the 60th minute of play with a game-winning touchdown.

This Saturday's matchup is both the 1,000th game in Williams College Football history and the inaugural regular season game of Colby's Seavers Field. The Ephs are looking for their 15th win in the series while the Mules are hoping to win their first home opener since 2005 when they defeated Williams in Waterville.
