USA tops Germany; Drenckhahn hauls in one pass

KAWASAKI, Japan - Former Williams College standout Jon Drenckhahn '07 caught one pass Thursday night as the United States defeated Germany 33-7 in its second game at the 2007 IFAF World Championship of American Football.
The U.S. will face the winner of the Japan/Sweden game Sunday for the championship.
Drenckhahn, who scored a touchdown in a 77-0 U.S. win over Korea in the opening game Tuesday, made his one catch count - hauling in a 6-yard gain on a 1st-and-10 play in the first quarter. The US drove 52 yards in four plays to take a 7-0 lead. The U.S. led 19-7 at halftime and sealed the victory with two fourth-quarter scores.
He is the all-time leader in receptions for the Ephs (135), has been selected to play for Team USA in the 2007 World Championship of American Football in Kawasaki, Japan, in July.
Drenckhahn led NESCAC the last two years in receptions snaring
51 passes each season to climb to the top of the Eph record book.
Drenckhahn's 51 catches this season generated 762 yards and seven
TDs. In his career he averaged 4.7 catches a game in 29 games and
he accounted for 1,759 yards (13.0/catch) and scored 11 TDs.
