SERIES: Began in 1885. Williams leads the series 48-21-7. The last win for Williams came last season in Medford, 38-14.

The last win for the Jumbos came in 1986 when they prevailed 33-3 in Medford.

The Ephs have won 14 in a row over the Jumbos and are unbeaten vs. Tufts in the last 20 years (18 wins and 2 ties).

Both ties came in Medford: 1988 (14-14) and 1992 (10-10).

Tufts last win in Williamstown came in 1981, 9-6.

COACHES: The Ephs' Mike Whalen (22-6) is in his fourth year as the Williams head coach. Whalen was previously the Ephs' head wrestling coach from 1996 to 2003, and the offensive line coach for the same span, including the last three with years as offensive coordinator. Whalen is 3-0 vs. Middlebury.

Whalen guided the 2006 Ephs to the sixth perfect season in Williams history, extending the Eph win streak to 14 and earning NESCAC Coach of the Year honors. He was also the only New England coach to finish in the top 25 in Liberty Mutual's Coach of the Year program among coaches in all divisions of college football.

Whalen, a 1983 graduate of Wesleyan University, captained both the football and wrestling teams while earning All-New England and All-American honors three times. Whalen's football coaching resume also includes stops at Springfield, Penn, Lafayette, and Colgate
Whalen is 3-0 vs. Tufts.

Bill Samko is in his 14th year as the head coach at Tufts, where he has compiled an overall record of 49-59. Prior to coaching at Tufts Samko coached at the University of the South. In 20 years as a head coach Samko's overall ledger reads 84-86-1.

STREAKS: Tufts is riding a 4-game win streak and the Jumbos have already equaled their win total from 2006.

Tufts improved to 4-0 last Saturday when they upset Trinity 16-10 at home.
The Ephs enter the game riding a 2-game win streak, after defeating Bates at home 31-26 and downing previously undefeated Middlebury on the road last week, 30-22.

AWARDS: The Jumbos Andy Henke was named the New England Div. II-III Coca Cola Gold Helmet winner last week for his role in the win over Trinity.
Henke, a junior safety, recorded eight tackles and recovered a key fumble in the win.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS:

Eph QB Pat Lucey is hitting on 63% of his passes this season and he entered the season with a completion % of .687 all but assuring him of the top spot on the Eph passing list ahead of Mike Bajakian '96 (.619). Bajakian is currently the offensive coordinator and QB coach at Central Michigan University.

Lucey (330) is only the 2nd Eph QB to have 300 completions in a career. Joe Reardon '04 tops the list with 499.

Lucey needs 321 yards to move past Sean Keenan '00 (4,192) into 2nd on Eph passing yards list.

Lucey will become the 3rd Eph QB behind Joe Reardon  (817) and Sean Keenan '00 (515) to record 500 pass attempts when he throws his sixth pass on Saturday.

Lucey is third all-time in TD passes with 29 behind Reardon (38) and Keenan (34)
