WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Williams junior 2B James Allison (Amherst [MA] HS) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine District I All-Academic Second Team.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team the player has to be at least a junior, possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 and be a significant contributor to his team.
Allison has started 30 of the 31 games he has played this season and he is tied for the team lead in HRs (3) and leads the Ephs in runs scored with 47.
A psychology major, Allison was named Academic All-NESCAC in 2010. To date Allison is batting .426 with 55 hits in 129 at bats. He has belted seven doubles and five triples and has 81 total bases.
Allison, a three-year letterman, has driven in 26 runs and he has been successful on seven of his nine stolen base attempts.
