Eph hurler Wilson Barr '11 wins CMYK magazine Emerging Artists Award

Pro Player Stadium -- Miami, FL
Sophomore pitcher Wilson Barr (St. Helena, CA) won an 'Emerging
Artists' contest in CMYK magazine. His winning photo was published
in the 2008 summer issue of CMYK magazine.
"It was a nice surprise to find out about the award," said Barr.
"CMYK is a quarterly magazine that publishes work submitted
primarily by young college art students. It tends to include
graphic design, photography, advertising, and illustrations."

"The photograph that was selected was taken in January 2008 in
the middle of the night at Pro Player Stadium in Miami during the
rehearsal for the FedEx Orange Bowl," noted Barr. "I have been
lucky enough to work as a production assistant for the half time
act for the past few years and was therefore given access to the
field, which was quite a thrill in itself."
Barr is not sure if photography is in his future "So far,
photography has been just a hobby that I enjoy," said Barr. "I
would love to pursue it at Williams, but frankly there are limited
photography classes offered and right now, I think I would probably
have a tough time fitting the necessary pre-requisites into my
schedule."
Barr appeared in six games last spring for Bill Barrale's 2008 Eph
baseball team (24-12) and despite a 6.04 ERA posted a 3-0 record.
In 28.1 innings Barr struck out 21 and walked 10.
