Kelli [McDermott] Nayak '95 named to Worcester [MA] HS HOF; Mike Bajakian '96 Off. Coord. at Cincinnati

Former Eph basketball and softball standout, Kelli [McDermott] Nayak ’95, has been named to the Worcester [MA] Public Schools Hall of Fame.

At Williams Nayak was a four-year letter-winner in both basketball and softball and she captained the Eph hoops team as a senior. In softball McDermott played shortstop and is in the top ten in nearly every offensive category in the Eph record book.

Nayak was a three-sport athlete at Worcester’s Burncoat HS (field hockey, basketball and softball) before enrolling at Williams.

She graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2002 and is finishing up her eight-year commitment to the U.S. Navy.

Nayak and her husband Chetan have three children and they reside in Miami, where Kelli is a practicing pediatrician.

Rivals.com reports that former Eph QB Mike Bajakian ‘96 who was the offensive coordinator under Butch Jones at Central Michigan University this fall is moving on to The Big East Conference and joining Jones’s staff at the University of Cincinnati.

Bajakian will be the Bearcats’ offensive coordinator.  At Willams Bajakain was a two-sport athlete lettering in both football and baseball. He quarterbacked the 1995 Ephs to a 7-0-1 mark as a senior.
